All Good Things Must Come To An End. I’ve never understood that expression, because even as a child, I couldn’t quite understand why good things had to end. Now, as an adult, I find myself constantly creating good happenings in all of its various forms, and perhaps trying to convince that inner child that it all doesn’t have to end…..hmmmm, ok I’ll move on before I start to psycho analyze.
This summer was filled with excitement! The thrills of our first summer in a new city and discovering all of its delights including road-trips to nearby vacation destination spots (which we hope to enjoy more often that we no longer have to fork over a fortune on airline tickets for a family of five.) Just enjoying decreased responsibility and adding more leisure that comes with temporarily downsizing and reorganizing for a more simpler life, has enabled us to work less and have more family time.
Having said that, and with school just around the corner, we say goodbye to summer and all of its lazy days. Several people have asked, “Are you happy that the kids will be back in school?” And our answer resounds with a firm “NO!” We enjoy our kids being home and taking them places and exposing them to new things. I think we love most is not having the morning rush of preparing for school so doggone early in the mornings.
But this too shall come to an end, in approximately 4 days 12 hours and 34 minutes.
But who’s counting?
